The company is headquartered in the Sino-German (Shenyang) High-end Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park and has research and development centers and branch offices in Beijing, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Shanxi, Los Angeles, and other locations. Shenyang Vycon has obtained over ninety domestic and international patents and has undertaken various provincial and ministerial-level major scientific and technological projects, including the national key research and development program. The company has played a leading role in the formulation of several technical standards related to flywheel technology in China. Shenyang Vycon has mastered the complete technical system of high-speed magnetic levitation energy storage flywheels, including high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motors, five-degree-of-freedom active magnetic bearings, and other core technologies with independent intellectual property rights. The global deployment of Shenyang Vycon’s high-speed magnetic levitation flywheel energy storage products is close to 4,000 units, offering advantages such as long lifespan, high reliability, and low power consumption. In the power industry, Shenyang Vycon achieved the first application of a megawatt-level flywheel energy storage system in power system frequency regulation in China. The company implemented the largest-scale flywheel energy storage/hybrid energy storage frequency modulation station in the country. The “Megawatt-level Flywheel Energy Storage System for Inertia and Frequency Support in New Energy Power Plants”, developed by Shenyang Vycon, was selected for inclusion in the National Energy Administration’s 2021 Catalog of Major Technical Equipment for the Energy Sector.
